Large Hadron Denier

The Large Hadron Collider may be colliding with the anthropic principle, if you ask me and pardon the pun.  Basically, I could accept the whole idea that the machine would create a black hole and destroy everything, but the anthropic principle narrows our human perception to the set of possible universes whereby human perception is possible (i.e., one where the LHC doesn’t get turned on and destroys all humans available to perceive anything).

But if you don’t buy the black whole part, you might believe these two other scientists, who have a slight variation on the theory and suggest that it is the Higgs Boson itself that is causing a ripple back through time to sabotage the LHC “like a time traveler who goes back in time to kill his grandfather.”

Either way, 10,000 scientists may have just wasted their time.
