The End of a Decade, and the Beginning of Reminiscence
November 12, 2009
As 2009 comes to a close, you can already hear bloggers clacking away at their keyboards gearing up to present their top 10-100 fill-in-the-blank-with-their-chosen-subject-of-commentary of the decade. I’m not at all perturbed by this habitual activity, but this is certainly the first decade-end where more people have had more soapboxes than ever before (yours truly included) and the cacophony may be deafening.
So, just for the sake of proper sequencing, here’s Newsweek’s 7-minute rundown of all the events that happened in the Aughts (my preferred term for this decade). Hopefully it will help you make sense of the wave of nostalgia that’s about to wash over us all.
