Short Criticism
In case you hadn’t yet seen the complete version of the highly acclaimed (e.g., Academy Award® winning) and terrifically graphic (pun intended) Logorama, it is available for some period of time (hopefully not just as long as it takes the rightsholders to send a DMCA takedown notice) on Vimeo.
I couldn’t possibly attempt a count of how many logos this visual stunner manages to cram into a 14-minute sequence, but what is interesting is how it also manages to cram so many movie cliches into that same space. As the movie illustrates (pun not intended this time), the tropes of studio movie-making can easily feel just as familiar to the audience as the logos that populate the visuals. The complete and constant integration of the corporate logos subtly parallels the interwoven threads of every “Hollywood” plot into one condensed short film.
