Presented without any need for comment, opportunity costs: apparently not a basis for policy (note, probably not to exact scale).
And though I think this topic is completely frivolous and distracting, I’m willing to bet that the 2012 election will certainly incorporate some kind of discussion of immigration and how the dang “Mexicans” are “taking” “our” jobs. And as such, this data visualization may also be revealing of how we will be wasting our time over the next few months instead of talking about policies with impact:
